Rests

Rests keep a beat silent while preserving the rhythmic shape of the row. In Vishwamohini script, a rest is written with a dash.

Script approach

Use - anywhere a silent beat is needed. Rests can appear in melodic or percussion rows.

Melody table approach

  1. Open the Melody tab.
  2. Select the beat that should be silent.
  3. Insert a rest with the real keyboard or virtual keyboard.
  4. Use Delete or Clear beat if you want to remove the whole beat content later.

Keyboard approaches

  • Real keyboard: press - in a non-lyrics row to insert a rest.
  • Virtual keyboard: select the rest key when it appears for the selected row.

Example

Use Player to view and play. Use Script to edit the Vishwamohini text, then return to Player to render your changes.
