Tihai is one of the important and widely used composition type in Indian classical music. Many types of composition includes Tihai.
Music is combination of strokes and gaps. Normally we are focused on understanding & playing strokes or fillers, and ignore to study gaps. Tihais help us to understand this important topic i.e. "How to count gap?", so it is necessary to learn and master different Tihais.
In this collection you will learn what is Tihai & some tricks to calculate simple/complex Tihais in different Taals which I discovered through self study

This collection contains notations for Bhajans sung in Gandhiji's Ashram, as notated in the book <a href=https://archive.org/details/ashram-bhajanavali-edited-by-ramchandra-mathuri-khare/page/n1/mode/2up>Ashram Bhajanavali</a>. This book was published by Ramchandra and Madhuri Khare, the children of Pt. N M Khare, one of the co-authors of the <i>original</i> book of bhajans, and the musician-in-residence at GandhiJi's Sabarmati ashram. Pt Narayan Moreshwar Khare was a disciple of Pt. V D Paluskar, who is the composer of the tunes of several of the bhajans presented in the collection. It is unclear who composed the others. In all likelihood, most of the tunes have been composed by Pt. V D Paluskar and some of his disciples, including Pt. N M Khare.
The original <b>Ashram Bhajanavali</b> was a far bigger collection of bhajans, but without notation, though it does specify the raag and taal for each bhajan. This book can be seen and downloaded from www.mkgandhi.org <a href=https://www.mkgandhi.org/ebks/hindi/ashram-bhajanavali.pdf> here </a>.

You need expertise like solo Tabla player while accompanying string instrument, but from creativity point of view it demands more than Solo material.
Accompaniment becomes interesting when Tabla player tries to follow improvisation as per structure of Gat of string instrument. Also tries to repeat same rhythmic pattern as demonstrated by main artist.
There is lot of scope for creativity, so this is collection of some ideas on this topic.
