Both Nishad i.e. Shudh Ni and komal Ni are part of this raga, all other swaras are shudha.

Jati of Raga Khamaj is 'Shadhav-Sampurna' because it has six notes. in Aroh i. e. S G m P D N, (Re is not part of Aroh) and seven notes in Avaroh i.e. S n D P m G R.
Vadi Swara  : Gandhar (G)
Sanvadi Swara : Shudh Nishad(Ni)
Thaat : Khamaj
Time : Second part of night

There are many ragas which have both Nishad (Ni), thumb rule for such ragas is shudha Ni comes in the Aroh (Ascending) and Komal Ni comes in the Avaroh (Descending).
